The Problem We Solve
Modern rooms are full of glass, hard floors and high ceilings, and sound bounces off all of it. Aged-care lounges get loud and stressful, restaurants become a roar, boardrooms echo and open-plan offices never settle. Standard blinds and curtains do nothing for it, and acoustic wall panels alone can't cover a wall of windows.
Acoustic curtains and sheers treat the window itself. Quicksew makes them to measure from Materialised's Hush acoustic fabric, tested to NRC 0.55-0.71 (with a 100mm air gap), so a reverberant glass wall becomes part of the sound solution while keeping its light and view.
Here's how to choose the right one for your space.
If you…
Acoustic sheers are the answer. Woven from a ribbon-shaped Trevira CS yarn, they absorb sound at the window yet stay translucent, tested to NRC 0.58+ (with a 100mm air gap). You soften the room without darkening it, ideal for offices, restaurants and aged-care lounges.

Acoustic light-reduction (dimout) curtains combine room-darkening with sound absorption in one soft, weighted drape. They suit AV rooms, theatres, club function spaces and bedrooms where you need both a dark room and a calmer one.

We pair acoustic curtains or sheers at the windows with AcoustiCalm printable wall panels (100% recycled, fire-rated, NRC 0.4-0.9) so the windows and walls work together. One Bathurst team coordinates the fabric, the make and the install.

If it doesn't fit perfectly, we come back and fix it. No questions, no charge. That's been our policy since 1977 and it's not changing.

Yes. Acoustic curtains and sheers are made from sound-absorbing fabric that softens echo and reverberation at the window. Quicksew uses Materialised's Hush range, tested to NRC 0.55-0.71 with a 100mm air gap. They won't block outside noise like a wall, but they calm hard, glassy, reverberant rooms.
Yes. Acoustic sheers stay translucent, a ribbon-shaped Trevira CS yarn manages sound and airflow while keeping the fabric sheer, so you soften noise without darkening the room or losing the view. If you need darkness as well, we make acoustic light-reduction (dimout) curtains.
The Hush acoustic range is tested to NRC 0.55-0.71, with acoustic sheers at NRC 0.58+. Those figures are measured with a 100mm air gap from the window or wall, averaged across 250-2000 Hz; a tight reveal fit performs lower. We can supply the test certificate for the fabric you choose.
Anywhere hard surfaces and glass make a room loud, aged-care lounges and dining rooms, hospital waiting areas, clubs, pubs, restaurants, hotels, open-plan offices, boardrooms, theatres and open-plan homes. We make them to measure and install across the Central West and Sydney.
The Hush acoustic window range is flame retardant, with the specific test result for each fabric available on request. For complementary wall acoustics, AcoustiCalm panels are fire-rated to AS 5637.1:2015 Group 1. Tell us your fire and infection-control brief and we'll specify fabric to match.
