The Problem We Solve

Direct Sun Is Destroying Your Furniture, and Your Afternoons

West-facing rooms cop the worst of it, intense afternoon sun that bleaches your timber floors, fades your upholstery, and turns the room into a greenhouse. You close the door, pull the curtains, and lose the view. The right roller blind solves all three.

A properly specified roller blind, the right fabric, the right openness factor, fitted exactly to your window, solves all of this without closing off natural light or your connection to the garden. Sunscreen fabrics cut UV and heat while preserving your view. Blockout fabrics give genuine darkness when you need it. And because we fit each one to your window precisely, they sit right from day one.

Which Option Is Right for Your Home?

Here's how to choose the right one for your space.

If you…

Need to stop afternoon sun without losing the view

A sunscreen roller blind with a 3-5% openness factor is your answer. It cuts UV and heat while still letting you see your garden. Perfect for west-facing living rooms and kitchens where afternoon glare makes screens unwatchable.

If you…

Need genuine darkness for sleeping or a home theatre

A blockout roller blind with a coated backing fabric prevents light transmission through the fabric. Pair with side channels if you need true edge-to-edge blackout. The right choice for bedrooms, shift workers, and home cinema rooms.

If you…

Want both, daytime view and night-time privacy

A duo roller blind puts a sunscreen and blockout fabric on the same bracket. Switch from view-preserving during the day to full privacy and blockout at night. One mechanism, two functions, our most popular choice for master bedrooms and main living areas.

Frequently asked questions

Are roller blinds good for bedrooms?

Yes. A blockout roller blind is one of the simplest ways to darken a bedroom for better sleep. The same blind takes any fabric, so you can run a blockout for night and add a sheer roller on a dual bracket for soft daytime light from the one window.

What's the difference between sheer, light-filtering and blockout roller blinds?

It comes down to the fabric. The mechanism is the same in all three. Sheer softens glare while keeping the view. Light-filtering gives daytime privacy with a soft glow. Blockout darkens a room and blocks heat. Order a free sample pack to see all three at your own window.

Can you have two roller blinds on one window?

Yes. A dual (double) bracket lets you run a sheer and a blockout roller on the same window. You get soft filtered light by day and full darkness or privacy at night. It's one of the most popular setups for living rooms and bedrooms.

Are roller blinds child-safe?

They can be. Choose a cordless or motorised roller blind and there are no chains or cords within a child's reach. We fit child-safety devices as standard on corded blinds, and we'll talk you through the cord-free options at your free measure.

Do roller blinds suit wet areas like kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes. Sunscreen and many light-filtering roller fabrics handle steam and splashes well and wipe clean, which makes roller blinds a practical pick for kitchens, bathrooms and laundries. We'll point you to the fabrics best suited to humidity and easy cleaning when you choose at the free measure.
