The Problem We Solve

Standard Outdoor Blinds Flap in the Wind, Let in Rain, and Don't Actually Protect Your Outdoor Area

Wind, insects and glare cut outdoor living short. Standard straight-drop outdoor blinds billow, flap and eventually tear, and even when they hold, the gaps at the sides let insects, dust and weather through. You spend good money on an outdoor area and still can't use it when the wind picks up or the flies arrive.

Zipscreen's zip-guided side channels lock the fabric edge into the frame, the blind cannot billow, insects cannot get through the sides, and the space functions as a real outdoor room. It's a fundamentally different product to a standard outdoor blind, built for locations where weather actually matters.

Which Option Is Right for Your Home?

Here's how to choose the right one for your space.

If you…

Shade & UV Protection

Your pergola gets intense afternoon sun from the west and you want to use it in summer without overheating. A shade mesh Zipscreen at 3-5% openness cuts glare, blocks UV, and still lets you feel the breeze, while the zip-guided edges stop the blind flapping in the afternoon westerlies.

If you…

All-Weather Outdoor Room

You want to enclose your alfresco area so it's usable in rain, wind and cold, essentially adding a room to your home. Clear PVC Zipscreen combined with a weatherproof roof creates exactly this. You get the view, the protection, and a space that works twelve months of the year.

If you…

Privacy & Full Blockout

Your outdoor area is overlooked by neighbours, or you run a commercial outdoor dining space where privacy and evening atmosphere matter. Blockout canvas Zipscreen provides complete privacy and shade, no transparency, professional appearance, and the same wind-resistant zip-guided edge as the other systems.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Zipscreen blind?

A Zipscreen is an outdoor blind whose fabric edges run inside a zipped side track, so the screen stays sealed even in wind. The locked edges block draughts, glare and insects far better than a straight-drop blind, and they let the screen handle higher wind speeds.

Are Zipscreens better than regular outdoor blinds?

For exposed or windy areas, yes. The zipped side tracks lock the fabric in so it doesn't flap, and the continuous seal down both sides blocks sun, draughts and insects more completely than a straight-drop blind. In a sheltered spot, a standard outdoor blind may be all you need.

Do Zipscreens keep insects out?

Yes. The fabric locks into the side tracks and leaves no gaps, so a Zipscreen with shade mesh keeps mosquitoes and flies out at dusk while still letting air through. It's a popular choice for enclosing an alfresco for year-round use.
