Arts precinct · Heritage adaptive re-use
Commercial window furnishings for an award-winning heritage arts precinct, built by Richard Crookes Constructions.
Sydney's iconic Walsh Bay has been reimagined as a global arts precinct through careful adaptive re-use, winner of the 2022 NSW Architecture Medallion. State Heritage-listed structures and finishes were restored to preserve the maritime character, while new steel balconies, walkways and glass-clad lifts capture the harbour views.
Quicksew supplied and installed the commercial window furnishings throughout this project, built by Richard Crookes Constructions. Our blinds were specified and fitted to suit each space, controlling glare and heat, managing privacy and protecting the interiors, while sitting cleanly within the architecture so the design leads.
The precinct is now a world-class home for the performing arts that honours its heritage. Quicksew's window furnishings sit quietly within the restored fabric, managing light and glare in the venues without competing with the architecture.
