The Wool Store, Bathurst

Wilga Station · Bathurst

Vertilux blinds and a custom triangle curtain shaped to the gable, for a heritage wool store reborn as luxury apartments.

The Brief

In the heart of Bathurst's heritage precinct on Keppel Street, a former wool store has been reimagined as five luxury apartments, including a New York style penthouse beneath soaring timber trusses. Wilga Station needed window furnishings that could meet the building's dramatic geometry: full-height gable ends, exposed beams and light that pours across every level. The brief was to control light and privacy without ever competing with the architecture.

Our Solution

We specifiedVertilux blinds throughout the apartments, chosen for clean lines and a tailored fit to every window. For the penthouse gable, where the ceiling rises to a sharp triangular point, we designed and made acustom triangle curtain shaped precisely to the pitch of the ceiling, a bespoke solution that follows the roofline exactly, softening the apex while letting the trusses remain the hero of the space.

The Result

The finished apartments balance heritage character with contemporary comfort. Light is managed beautifully across all five residences, the penthouse's triangular curtain reads as though it was always part of the building, and guests enjoy warmth and privacy without losing a single sightline to the timber above.
