Acute hospital
Window furnishings for one of NSW's largest acute hospitals, designed by BVN.
Part of a $1.2 billion redevelopment, the new 100,000m² acute hospital building at Royal North Shore, one of five major trauma centres in NSW and a teaching hospital, was designed by BVN around a sunlit central 'high street'. It houses one of Australia's largest operating suites, a 60-bed ICU, nine inpatient units, radiation oncology, a mental-health unit and a major emergency department.
Quicksew supplied and installed the window furnishings throughout this project, designed by BVN. Our blinds and curtains were specified and fitted to suit each space, controlling glare and heat, managing privacy and protecting the interiors, while sitting cleanly within the architecture so the design leads.
The hospital improves operational efficiency and the experience of patients and staff, with colour used for wayfinding and a sense of wellness. Quicksew's window furnishings manage light and privacy across the wards and consulting spaces.
Measured, made in our Bathurst workroom and installed by our own team — for homes and projects across Central West NSW and Sydney.
